spring summer 27 development/ over-shirt sampling
While proportion and cut remain important, this piece primarily served as an exploration of post garment processing, specifically how the fabric reacts to different treatments in relation to various construction methods, stitching, color, and hand feel.
The goal was to achieve a dry, naturally worn in feel. Not to suggest vintage, but to remove any sense of preciousness and make the garment feel easy to wear & care for.
Pictured throughout are the final two of several iterations completed. The white is a high twist lightweight cotton, while the beige is a heavier, looser cotton / linen blend. Because they are such different fabrics, I wanted to see how each would respond to the same processing with the same construction and detailing. Both are lovely in their own way, the white being more utilitarian and the beige a lot more romantic. comparing them helped clarify the direction that best aligns with the feeling I’m pursuing for the collection.
